Are you still wondering why investors keep shunning Nigeria for countries with more forward thinking and broad minded leadership? The actions of the FG in the last week should clear any doubts.
No reasonable investor will come and invest in a country where the leader is threatening a section of the citizens with war. No investor will come and invest in a country where the potential for break down of law and order is almost certain.
No investor will come and invest in a country where school children are kidnapped at will and ransom is negotiated and paid without arrests. No investor will come into a country where the likely hood that you will be kidnapped while going about your lawful business is as high as can be imagined.
No investor will come into a country where the government does not rationalize decisions before taking them. Have we weighed the impact of the twitter ban on all foreign businesses in this country? The consulates and embassies that keep engaging people on twitter and all?
Just because a tweet that has been largely condemned by the whole world was deleted, the government has gone ballistic. I hear some clowns comparing Nnamdi Kanu’s tweets and that of PMB. Buhari occupies a very important office that comes with enormous responsibilities, expectations and demands. Are we now placing him in the same basket with Kanu?
For me, there is nothing that surprises me anymore. The government has always wanted to censor, regulate or ban social media usage in this country. This is just a convenient excuse.
I wish them well…
